Appreciation can change your life

Appreciation can change your life

When was the last time you expressed appreciation to someone close to you, for who they are, or what they mean to you.

So often we take the people close to us for granted. You probably really do appreciate them, but maybe it’s been a while since you actually expressed your appreciation to them.

Social reformer Margaret Cousins (1878-1954) once said:

“Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary.”

For most of us in the business of life it’s usually easier to criticise people for the little things they do that annoy us than it is to express appreciate for who they are and what they do for us.

Here is a little challenge for you to consider. Why not make a commitment to find a reason to express heartfelt, genuine appreciation to one person a day for the next seven days.

Make the focus of your day looking for things you can appreciate about people. If you make this the focus of your week you might just find you have the best week you have had for a long time.
